Three apps for Eurosky and Bluesky

Apps for the open social web.

Birdsong Apps makes Skeets, Flashes and Blinky: three apps that feel like they belong on your iPhone, for a social network you can leave without losing your friends. Built in Berlin.

The apps

One network, three ways in.

All three sign in to the same account. Pick the one that fits how you use it, or keep all three.

Skeets

The full client, for people who read a lot.

  • Refresh without losing your place.
  • Edit posts, unroll threads, translate your whole feed.
  • Image descriptions written on your iPhone, made for VoiceOver.
  • iPhone and iPad.

Flashes

Photos and video, with a feed that learns what you like.

  • Stories, filters, and a profile that works as a portfolio.
  • Find photos by camera, lens and hashtag.
  • A push notification that shows the photo.
  • On the web too, at app.flashes.blue.

Blinky

Short video, posted in one motion.

  • Hold + to record. Let go, and it posts.
  • Subtitles written on your iPhone.
  • For You, Following, and the community's video feeds.

Why we build them this way

Four things every Birdsong app gets right.

Native, not a web view

Built with Apple's own tools. Scrolling, sharing, the keyboard and the share sheet work like the rest of your iPhone.

Accessible by design

VoiceOver everywhere. Image descriptions and subtitles are written on the device, so they are there before you post.

Your account stays yours

Built on the AT Protocol, the open network behind Eurosky and Bluesky. Move your account between providers and keep your followers.

Made in Berlin, for Europe

Eurosky first, Bluesky too. Your data stays on servers in Europe when you choose a European provider.

About

An independent app company in Berlin.
